Due to limited space inside the offices, it will be necessary for you to have all of your requests/applications completed before you are allowed inside the office, including having your identification documents and payment ready.

YOU MUST change your address with the County Clerk's office if you move. Complete a Change of Address form and email it to cplclerk@muskegoncounty.net or mail it back to the County Clerk's office with a copy of your driver's license with your new address on it so we can update our system.

Please keep in mind that our office stops processing CPLs at 4:00 p.m. and some services can take up to 20 minutes to perform. Please allow for this when coming in to our office.

Obtaining a New CPL:

Before you may proceed into the Clerk’s Office, please have your completed and unsigned application, your original class certificate, your ID, and payment of $100 or $115 with fingerprints. We accept cash, check/money order, or charge. Make checks/money orders payable to Muskegon County Clerk and put your ID and telephone number on it .

Once you have all documents out and ready to present to the clerk, please stand by the door until called, adhering to social distancing rules.

ALL RENEWAL APPLICATIONS:

In order to qualify for a CPL renewal you must have completed 3 hours of review of the required training and a least 1 hour of firing range in the last 6 months.
